A stroll through Scottish SF – past, present and future
Join Noel Chidwick and Pippa Goldschmidt for a Sunday afternoon session with a selection of Scottish writers of science fiction past, present, and future, and discuss what inspires them.
Science fiction and fantasy written by Scots go way back in time, and today many Scottish writers are writing exciting new works to add to the collection. This presentation will look at Scottish SF writers from the past: some you’ll know, others who will surprise you, and we’ll explore contemporary Scottish SF. Maybe we’ll identify some of the themes and ideas that are being taken up by current and future Scottish SF writers.
The presentation will include videos of story readings, and live readings
Participation from the audience will be encouraged to feed in ideas to help us develop SF Caledonia as a showcase for Scottish science fiction, fantasy and speculative fiction.
